Welcome to the Summer Salutation Series!

Welcome to the Summer Salutation Series at Living Lotus Online. Over the next 12 days we will journey through a variety of flow Yoga sequences all inspired by Surya Namaskar - Sun Salutation. These are moving meditations, practices that will increase focus and stimulate your body & breath connection as you make your way into the flow state.

By the end of the 12 days you will have completed 108 salutations. In yoga, the number 108 represents spiritual completion and is believed to connect us both to ourselves and to the world around us. To enhance your practice you will also be invited to include thoughtful affirmations.

Besides being a great opportunity to get some mindful movement into your day, these classes will enhance your ability to remain present while strengthening the entire body. Combined with the Living Lotus movement method that utilizes creative and mindful mobility based movement you will also increase flexibility, strengthen and improve joint health, improve balance and regulate your nervous system to improve overall well being.

Each class has also been designed to fit into your busy summer schedule so you can build upon your practice and remain consistent while enjoying all the gifts summer has to offer.

Recommended props: 2X Yoga blocks and 1X blanket. While these props won't always be cued throughout the classes please feel free to use the blocks under the hands and the blanket to pad the knees or seat at any point throughout your summer salutation series.

The affirmation for this class is: "I honour my actions". This Yoga practice pays homage to traditional sun salutations with standing sequences. Get ready to take action and strengthen the entire body with familiar standing flows.

The affirmation for this class is: "I honour my inspirations". Inspired by day 3 traditional flows you will incorporate a powerful warrior 2 (Virabhadrasana II) element into today's class, with extra focus on stretching your hips and improving leg, core and shoulder strength.

The affirmation for this class is: "I honour my agility". Building from the inspiration and strength of warrior 2 (Virabhadrasana II) this class will further your journey to improve mental and physical agility with the inclusion of Triangle pose (Trikonasana).

The affirmation for this class is: "I honour my strengths". This grounding salutation class focuses on increasing strength in the shoulders & legs. While improving your willingness to continue to learn and expand along this 12 day journey.

The affirmation for this class is: "I honour my divinity". Today you will awaken your solar plexus, your internal fire encouraging you to keep shining your light and tame your ego. This class will also improve spinal health & flexibility.

The affirmation for this class is: "I honour my beginnings". Today's class reminds you that it's OK and sometimes necessary to begin again. Encouraging you to approach situations with a more balanced outlook. With that said you can expect a little more challenge as you explore balancing half moon pose (Ardha Chandrasana).

This moving meditation improves flexibility for the entire body while caring for joint health. You will all be reminded to take note of your ability to create. To create healthy habits, to create a healthy mindset, to create a healthy and whole self.
