Rooted in Change: Finding Your Balance This October

Just as the leaves release, we too are invited to let go — not in a dramatic, throw-everything-out way but in a gentle, mindful shift toward balance and renewal.

 October always feels like the universe’s subtle reminder that nothing stays the same. One week you’re in sandals, the next you’re debating whether it’s socially acceptable to wear fuzzy socks to the grocery store. (Spoiler: it is.) 

This month at Living Lotus Online, our practices lean into that rhythm of change. Just as the leaves release, we too are invited to let go — not in a dramatic, throw-everything-out way but in a gentle, mindful shift toward balance and renewal. 

Aparigraha: The Art of Not Clinging 

In yoga philosophy, Aparigraha (non-grasping) reminds us that holding on too tightly — whether to routines, relationships, or our perfectly timed morning coffee ritual — can weigh us down. October offers the chance to loosen our grip a little. To trust that by releasing, we create space for something new to root and grow. 

Grounding Into Change 

And let’s be honest: change isn’t always comfortable. Even good change can feel wobbly. That’s why grounding is at the heart of this month’s practices. Rooting into the body, into breath, and into the present moment helps us steady ourselves when everything else feels in motion. 

One of the places we’ll explore this is in the TheraYoga Online Series, a Living Lotus signature offering designed to support you through the layered experience of being human.
